JAFFNA: INTENSE fighting erupted in the general areas of KILALY, NAGARKOVIL and MUHAMALE Monday (17) when the troops operating ahead of the FDLs (Forward Defence Lines) confronted Tiger terrorists.

     Small arms, RPG (Rocket Propeller Gun) and mortar fire of the troops caused heavy damages to the LTTE during clashes.
