KILINOCHCHI: ADVANCING troops attacked some more LTTE positions in the general areas, east of AKKARAYANKULAM and NIVIL in KILINOCHCHI and ANDANKULAM in WELIOYA during Monday (17).

     Heavy casualties were caused to the enemy during these clashes, according to ground troops. 

     Meanwhile, one T-56 weapon, one thousand eight hundred (1800) ammunition rounds and one hundred and forty-one anti personnel mines were recovered by the troops in WELIOYA during Monday
