NDTV is pleased to announce a tie-up with Sri Lanka's premier telecommunications service provider, Dialog Telekom, to push breaking news alerts to Dialog mobile subscribers. Through this partnership, the Sri Lankan public can now get news updates from India on their Dialog mobile as and when it happens, making NDTV the first Indian broadcaster to do so.
Commenting on the partnership, Rahul Sood, Head - Distribution & Affiliate Sales, NDTV Limited said, "We share a long and very cordial relationship with Dialog TV and are pleased to tie-up with Dialog Telekom to deliver news from India to its mobile customers. The mobile phone is increasingly becoming an important platform for distribution of content, and this will help us reach out to the Indian Diaspora who are not receiving news from India."
Sanjay Trehan, CEO – NDTV Convergence said: "Mobile technology has made boundaries irrelevant and mobile devices have emerged as the touch point for news consumption. We, at NDTV Convergence, are strong believers in this emerging ecosystem of collaboration and cooperation, as we prepare ourselves to harness new opportunities by making content flow seamlessly across multiple screens and platforms. We are very excited with this partnership and would continue to explore new horizons in this space."
Nushad Perera, Group Chief Marketing Officer of Dialog Telekom, said: “It is our pleasure to partner with NDTV in this milestone initiative. Mobile is the key platform for infotainment in the future. By offering specialised regional news services such as NDTV, we are opening up a new dimension in the sphere of mobile-based news provision, and contribute to the smooth flow of news and information transcending all boundaries.”
